Toyota is one of the brands we work on most. In the last few months that’s meant a new smart key for a RAV4 with no keys left, a proximity fob for a 2025 Prius, a Tacoma key and a spare for a Yaris. All of them were done where the car was parked. No tow, and no waiting on a dealer appointment.
Most Toyotas from the last twenty years have a chip in the key that has to be programmed to the car, not just cut. Newer models like the RAV4, Camry, Prius and Highlander often use a smart key for push-to-start. We carry the key machine and the programming tool in the van, so both jobs happen in one visit.

Lexus Keys Too
Lexus is Toyota’s luxury brand and uses a lot of the same key technology. We’ve replaced a Lexus key fob for a customer at his house, and helped another customer whose Lexus key went through the washer and dryer and stopped working. If you drive a Lexus, everything on this page applies to you.

It depends on the key type, whether you still have a working key, and the model year. A basic chip key costs less than a push-to-start smart key, and adding a spare costs less than starting from zero. Can you make a Toyota smart key if I lost all my keys?
Yes, on most models. We did exactly that for a RAV4 owner with no keys left. Call with the year and model and we’ll confirm before we head out.
Do you program Toyota key fobs I bought online?
Sometimes. Many online fobs are the wrong frequency or already locked to another car. Send us the part number when you call and we’ll tell you honestly if it will work.
Can you erase my lost Toyota key from the car?
On most Toyotas, yes. We remove lost keys from the car’s memory while we program the new one, so the old key won’t start the car if someone finds it.
Do you work on Lexus too?
Yes. Lexus keys are close to Toyota’s, and we’ve replaced and fixed Lexus fobs for Bay Area customers.
